Devotees of Lord Jagannath have been advised to plan their visit carefully as the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration has announced special rituals that will temporarily restrict public darshan on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
According to an official notice released by the temple, the sacred Rukmini Harana & Bibaha Utsav Niti will be performed on Jyeshtha Shukla Ekadashi Tithi. These ancient rituals commemorate Lord Krishna’s divine abduction of Princess Rukmini and their celestial wedding — a deeply significant observance in the temple’s rich tradition.
To ensure the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of these important nitis, public darshan will remain temporarily suspended from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM after the completion of the First Bhog Mandap offering.
The temple administration has urged devotees to complete their darshan in the morning hours before the suspension begins. The notice, issued under the banner “Jai Shree Jagannatha Mahaprabhu,” carries the official seal and signature of the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration, Puri.
This special observance is expected to draw heightened spiritual fervour among pilgrims, even as the temple adjusts its schedule to uphold the sanctity of the rituals.
