The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) marked its 2025 Day Parade with a solemn tribute to its fallen heroes, as Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the force’s contributions to national security.

Addressing the gathering, Shah honoured the sacrifices of 2,264 personnel who have laid down their lives in service.

During his speech, Shah highlighted the CRPF’s pivotal role in counterterrorism, managing unrest, and significantly reducing Naxal activity. According to government data, incidents of Naxal violence have dropped by more than 70% in the past decade, largely due to strategic CRPF operations. Shah credited the force with confining Naxalism to just four districts, while announcing an ambitious goal to eliminate it entirely by March 2026.

The Union Minister also discussed the impact of the CRPF’s deployment in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly following the abrogation of Article 370. He commended the force for ensuring peaceful assembly elections without firing a single bullet, reinforcing its reputation as a disciplined and effective security unit.

Tracing the CRPF’s evolution since its founding in 1939, Shah described it as the world’s largest paramilitary force, with contributions spanning counterterrorism, disaster response, and national security initiatives. He also highlighted ongoing welfare measures, including Ayushman CAPF health cards, improved salaries, enhanced housing benefits, and environmental campaigns for personnel.
