A bus carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans plunged into a gorge near Kandva in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district, resulting in the death of three personnel and injuries to fifteen others.
According to Additional SP Sandeep Bhat, police teams swiftly responded to the scene and launched a rescue operation. The injured were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed his concern on social media, stating that he had spoken to Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, who is personally monitoring the situation. “Rescue measures have been initiated immediately. Locals have voluntarily come forward to assist,” Singh posted.
Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also conveyed his condolences, writing, “Saddened by loss of CRPF personnel due to an accident near Udhampur. We will never forget their exemplary service to the nation.”
