Stepping up its reinvestigation into the sensational murder of BJD leader and Minister Naba Das, the Odisha Crime Branch team reached Jharsuguda as part of its ongoing probe.
This renewed action comes shortly after the agency recorded statements from Naba Das’ family members on Tuesday.
Sources revealed that a key focus of the investigation is the airlift operation that transported the critically injured minister to Bhubaneswar after he was shot. Officials are closely examining vital details, including the exact timing, execution, and those who accompanied Das during those crucial moments. All aspects of the airlift process are being thoroughly reviewed.
Earlier in the day, a two-member Crime Branch team visited Naba Das’ residence in Sarbahal, Jharsuguda, and recorded statements from his son Vishal Das, daughter Dipali Das, and wife Minati Das as part of the re-investigation.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is scheduled to meet Minati Das, the late minister’s wife, at 5 PM on Wednesday at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. The meeting follows a request from Naba Das’ family seeking an audience with the CM regarding the progress of the investigation into the high-profile murder.
