The Crime Branch of Odisha Police gave a clean chit to Silicon Tech Lab Private Limited (STL) in connection with the police Sub-Inspector (SI) examination scam.
Exclusive documents accessed by OTV show that the Crime Branch issued a character certificate to STL before allowing the company to conduct the SI recruitment exam.
The certificate described STL’s chief, Suresh Nayak, as a “gentle and knowledgeable person.” Based on this clearance, STL managed the SI exam process. Records also reveal that the company had previously conducted recruitment exams for jail warders and High Court Assistant Section Officers (ASO).
However, the CBI charge sheet paints a different picture. It states that preparations for the SI exam manipulation began in March 2025. By then, hopeful candidates had already paid nearly Rs 25 lakh to secure unfair advantages. Despite these allegations, the Crime Branch cleared STL on August 4, 2025, raising serious questions about oversight and accountability.
