The Leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in the Odisha Assembly, Rama Chandra Kadam, has formally requested Speaker Surama Padhy to convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly.
The plea follows the recent devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which has left the nation reeling.
In his heartfelt letter to the Speaker, Kadam highlighted the gravity of the situation, urging the Assembly to gather for an urgent session. The goal of this session, he stated, would be to express condolences to the families of the victims, demonstrate solidarity, and deliver a strong, united message against terrorism.
“This attack has shocked the nation deeply. We must set aside political differences and come together to condemn terrorism unequivocally. Convening a special session will enable us to express our unity with the victims and send a powerful message that Odisha stands firm against violence,” Kadam emphasised.
