The Commissionerate Police have announced stringent guidelines to ensure a safe and peaceful Holi celebration in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Citizens have been advised against entering rivers or swimming pools under the influence of alcohol, with violators facing strict action, including arrest.
In a proactive measure to maintain safety, police and fire services personnel will be deployed at major river ghats. Those creating public nuisances or blocking roads in the name of celebration will be taken into custody.
To maintain law and order, twenty platoons of police will be deployed throughout the cities. Special attention will be given to curb the illegal sale of liquor. Additionally, the use of chemical-based colors has been restricted, with only herbal colors permitted for celebrations.
Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena emphasized the importance of avoiding intoxicated entry into water bodies and highlighted the strict monitoring of drunk driving. “We will deploy police, ODRAF, and fire services teams at different river ghats. Besides, drunk driving will be strictly monitored,” said Meena.
The police have urged citizens to follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable Holi for all.
Stay safe and have a joyous Holi! 🌈
