Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various developmental projects in the five districts – Bolangir, Keonjhar, Khordha, Boudh and Cuttack.
The projects that were inaugurated by the Chief Minister included the transformed Harishankar Temple in Balangir district, Odisha’s longest flyover of 3km at Joda in Keonjhar district at the cost Rs 258.78 crore, 762m long railway over-bridge built for Rs 105 crore at Jatni Kudiary in Khordha district, Odisha’s longest bridge of 3 km constructed for Rs 159.31 crore over river Mahanadi on Athmallik-Dhalpur roadroad, 600 meter long bridge over Tel river for Rs 45.84 crore on Rakdor-Fasad road and bridge over river Mahanadi on Boudh- Marjakud link road for Rs 71.59 crore.
Similarly, the projects for which foundation given by the Chief Minister were – the development work of Shri Shri Achyutananda Das Gadi, Nemala, Cuttack at a cost of Rs.25 crore, development of Maa Ugratara Shakti Pitha in Khordha district at the cost of Rs 32.14 crore, construction of 1738 meters long bridge over river Mahanadi on Baunsuni –Birmaharajpur link road connecting road in Boudh district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that these projects implemented under the 5T initiative will play an important role in the development of tourism and infrastructure. Harishankar r is one of the major Pithas of Odisha. The transformation of this Pitha under the Integrated Development of Heritage and Monuments and Tourist Destination plan will be successful in providing better services to the travellers and will also play an important role in the economic development of the residents.
He further said that culture is the identity of a nation. Its preservation is the moral responsibility of all of us. The foundation stone was laid today for the transformation of Shri Shri Achyutananda Gadi in the Cuttack district and Maa Ugratara Shakti Pitha in the Khordha district. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the development of these great Pithas will further strengthen the emotional bond of the Odias.
Inaugurating the state’s largest flyover at Joda in Keonjhar, the railway over-bridge at Jatni, the high-level bridge over Tel River, Marjakud Road High-Level Bridge and the largest bridge on Atthamalik-Dhalpur road, the Chief Minister said that these projects will further strengthen our communication system and reduce travel time. All these projects will benefit millions of people. Stating that communication is the basis of prosperity, the 5T initiative has brought a massive transformation in infrastructure development in the state today and said that it has widened the path of development, the Chief Minister said.
