Malkangiri: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to visit Malkangiri today to assess the damage caused by the recent flash floods resulting from continuous rainfall in the area.
He will be accompanied by the Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management, Suresh Pujari, during his inspection of the district. Enhanced security measures have been implemented in Malkangiri ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit.
Majhi will depart from Bhubaneswar at 1: 30 PM and reach Malkangiri Airport at 3:00 PM. Afterwards, he will visit the flood-affected areas. He will return to Bhubaneswar at 5:00 PM.
It should be noted that heavy rains, triggered by a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, have led to severe flooding in Malkangiri. As the flood waters recede, the Chief Minister will examine the damage and the ongoing response efforts in the district.
The state government has designated two senior officials to oversee the flood response in Malkangiri. These officials, along with the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) and the Revenue Minister, have been actively monitoring the situation.
