On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will disburse the third instalment of the Subhadra scheme from Jeypore, providing financial aid to women beneficiaries across the state.

The scheme, aimed at empowering women through direct financial support, continues to evolve based on public feedback and inclusion guidelines.

According to the Additional Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department, beneficiaries due more than Rs 1 crore collectively will receive the aid in a one-time disbursement. The government is placing special emphasis on how the funds are being utilised, with a steering committee set to gather feedback and assess the real-world impact of the scheme.

Eligible women aged 21 and above will be newly inducted in the next cycle, while those who turn 60 by March 30 will be excluded as per revised norms. The third phase marks a significant step in the state’s ongoing effort to support and uplift women in both urban and rural areas.

The Subhadra scheme has garnered widespread attention for its inclusivity and timely support, and the upcoming disbursement reflects the government’s commitment to efficient welfare delivery and participatory governance.
