Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the Brahma Kumaris Golden Jubilee celebrations at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on November 17, 2025, and launched the “Prosperous Odisha, Golden Odisha” campaign.
He praised the organisation’s fifty-year journey as a path of humanity’s awakening, spiritual advancement, and divine service.
Majhi emphasised that spiritual living inspires simplicity, humility, and frugality. Moreover, he explained that such values guide society toward balanced use of natural resources. He acknowledged Sister Shivani’s global role in teaching spiritual discipline and commended her dedication and service. In addition, he noted that the Brahma Kumaris have helped millions overcome depression, addiction, and personal struggles through stress management and emotional well-being programs.

The Chief Minister highlighted the organisation’s efforts in women’s empowerment and social values. Furthermore, he stressed that these initiatives strengthen communities. He pointed out that the Brahma Kumaris movement has spread worldwide, from Mount Abu to New York, Nairobi, and London, carrying the message of peace. He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of the government and Brahma Kumaris would bring meaningful social change.
Majhi underlined the importance of Raj Yoga and meditation in promoting discipline and compassion. He linked these practices to good governance and stated that empathetic administration builds trust while reinforcing moral foundations in society. Additionally, he reaffirmed the state’s vision to transform Odisha into a prosperous and developed state by 2036.
Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan also addressed the gathering. He recognised the Brahma Kumaris’ role in guiding society toward peace and harmony for five decades. The event brought together leaders, including Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, former minister Aravind Dhali, Sister Shivani, Dr Banarasi Bhai, Shaktiraj Bhai, and Geeta Didi from the Bhubaneswar branch.
