The Khariar Mahotsav Celebration Committee has formally invited Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to attend the famous Khadial Mahotsav 2026 as the chief guest.
According to reports, a delegation from the committee visited Bhubaneswar recently under the leadership of MP Malavika Devi and Khariar MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi. The team met the Chief Minister and extended the invitation for his participation in the upcoming cultural festival.
The committee expressed confidence that Majhi, known as a culture enthusiast, will grace the event this year. They highlighted that his presence would add significance to the festival, which has long been a symbol of the Nuapada district’s rich traditions and heritage.
During the meeting, the delegation also discussed local issues of the Khariar region with the Chief Minister, seeking his attention and support.
The Khariar Mahotsav remains one of the most celebrated cultural events in western Odisha, drawing large crowds and showcasing folk art, music, and community spirit. The committee hopes that the Chief Minister’s participation will further boost the festival’s prominence and inspire greater recognition of the district’s cultural identity.
