In a stirring address at the Namo Yuva Samabesh held in Amalipali, Jharsuguda, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended a heartfelt welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising his unwavering commitment to national service and transformative impact on Odisha’s development.

Speaking before a massive gathering of youth and dignitaries, CM Majhi described the Prime Minister’s presence as “destiny,” recalling the inauguration of the Veer Surendra Sai Airport in 2018 under Modi’s leadership—a milestone that catalyzed growth in western Odisha.

Majhi highlighted the nationwide celebration of Modi’s birthday as Seva Pakhwada (Fortnight of Service), calling it a reflection of the Prime Minister’s five-decade-long dedication to the nation. “It was not merely a birthday celebration,” Majhi said, “but a tribute to his unwavering service.”

The Chief Minister emphasized Modi’s iconic status among India’s youth, citing numerous initiatives launched since 2014 that have empowered young citizens. He also lauded the Prime Minister’s decisive actions in national security, referencing Operation Sindhu and the Balakot airstrikes, which he said “ignited new enthusiasm in the hearts of our youth.”

Majhi praised Modi’s deep devotion to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath and his affection for the people of Odisha, noting that the Prime Minister has visited the state seven times since the current government took office. He recalled the launch of the Subhadra Yojana, which provides Rs 10,000 annually to over one crore women, and the symbolic gesture of sharing kshiri with an Adivasi mother on his birthday.

Environmental stewardship was another focal point, with Majhi commending the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. On Modi’s birthday this year, Odisha pledged to plant 75 lakh trees—but exceeded expectations by planting 1.5 crore saplings in a single day.

The Prime Minister’s visit coincides with Navaratri and Durga Puja, Odisha’s most significant festival. Majhi announced a “double bonanza” of development projects, including:

  • The launch of the Amrit Bharat Train from Berhampur to Surat
  • A world-class skill development initiative
  • A new semiconductor park
  • Upgradation of MKCG and VIMSAR hospitals into super-specialty facilities
  • A port-based SEZ in Ganjam
  • Work orders for 50,000 Antyodaya homes for the underprivileged

Majhi also spotlighted the Next Generation GST Reforms, which have led to widespread savings during Odisha’s festive shopping season. He noted that the Odisha Legislative Assembly recently passed a resolution expressing gratitude for the initiative.

Under Modi’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” mantra, Majhi affirmed the state’s commitment to empowering farmers, women, the poor, and youth. He cited the Make in Odisha event earlier this year, where Modi encouraged industrial investment with the words “Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai.” Since then, Odisha has attracted over Rs 2 lakh crore in investments and launched 84 industrial projects, generating 1.64 lakh jobs.

Majhi concluded with an emotional tribute, quoting Modi’s poem recited after the Balakot airstrikes:

“Saugandh hai mujhe is mitti ki, Main desh nahin mitne dunga.”

He pledged that Odisha’s youth stand united with the Prime Minister in building a developed India by 2047.
