Ahmedabad witnessed a disturbing act of school violence on Tuesday night when a 15-year-old Class 10 student was fatally stabbed by a junior from Class 9 inside a private school campus.
The victim, belonging to the Sindhi community, succumbed to his injuries despite emergency medical attention.
The accused, reportedly from the Muslim community, was taken into custody under juvenile laws. The incident sparked widespread outrage, with members of the victim’s community, Hindu organisations, and activists from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staging protests outside the school.
Demonstrators vandalised school property and allegedly assaulted staff, prompting police to deploy heavy security and intervene to restore order. Clashes between protesters and law enforcement were reported, and complaints have been filed against the school principal and management for alleged negligence.
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the incident, while community leaders call for accountability and preventive measures to ensure student safety.
