CJP Hails Dharmendra Pradhan's Resignation as 'Victory of Students', Says 'Long Live Student Power'

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing it as a major victory for the ongoing student movement over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 examination irregularities.

Sharing Pradhan’s resignation letter on its official social media handle, the organisation declared, “Long live student power,” and credited the development to the determination and unity of students protesting across the country.

The CJP said the resignation marked a significant milestone in its campaign demanding accountability and reforms in the examination system. The organisation has been leading protests in New Delhi, calling for greater transparency in competitive examinations and action over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak controversy.

The student movement had intensified in recent weeks, with thousands of aspirants and supporters participating in demonstrations seeking education reforms and the resignation of the Union Education Minister. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had also extended support to the protests by observing a 26-day hunger strike before ending it after receiving written assurances from the Centre on several issues, including discussions on examination reforms.

Earlier on Saturday, Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation through a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter, he said he was taking moral responsibility for the developments surrounding NEET-UG 2026 while highlighting the government’s response, including a CBI investigation, cancellation and re-conduct of the examination, and the decision to introduce Computer-Based Testing (CBT) from next year.

The CJP reiterated that the resignation reflects the impact of sustained democratic protests by students and maintained that education reforms should remain a national priority to restore confidence in the examination process.

The organisation has not yet announced whether it will continue its protest programme or issue fresh demands following Pradhan’s resignation.
