A Civil Aviation Security Training Camp was inaugurated today at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) in Bhubaneswar.
The program, launched at 11:00 AM, will run for two weeks and train 40 police security personnel from airports in Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Jeypore (Koraput), and Utkela (Kalahandi).
The camp was formally opened by Sanjay Kumar, ADG of Police (Law and Order), who lit the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the gathering, he urged trainees to perform their duties with sincerity and set a benchmark for aviation security across the country.
Shri Pradeep Baxla, Regional Director of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), briefed participants on technical aspects and protocols of aviation safety.
The event was attended by Smt. Debadatta Suranjita Jena, Special Secretary to the Commerce and Transport Department and Director of Civil Aviation, Government of Odisha. Other dignitaries included SP Shri U.S. Mishra and aviation consultant Shri Suresh Chandra Hota. The program was coordinated by Deputy Commandant Shri Lalitendu Mohanty.
Officials said the training aims to strengthen security preparedness at Odisha’s airports and ensure compliance with national and international aviation safety standards.
