A toddler was kidnapped from his visually impaired mother’s lap near Ram Mandir on Sunday.

The mother and her two children had been living on the streets due to extreme poverty. Reports suggest that the miscreant offered juice to the elder child before fleeing with the baby while the mother was asleep.

This incident has left civic society groups and child rights activists outraged, demanding immediate action to ensure the safety of marginalized citizens. Authorities are working tirelessly to locate the child using advanced human and technical intelligence, coordinating efforts across transport hubs, checkpoints, and nearby police stations.

The abduction highlights the pressing need for dedicated shelter and rehabilitation mechanisms for homeless individuals, especially vulnerable women and children. Bhubaneswar’s civic groups have emphasized that urgent measures must be taken to prevent such heinous crimes in the future.
