Choreographer Nandika Dwivedi has strongly denied rumours linking her to the postponement of music composer Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding.
Speculation surfaced online after the ceremony was halted due to a medical emergency involving Smriti’s father. Several unverified posts on social media subsequently accused Palash of being involved with a choreographer, with Nandika and another artist, Gulnaaz, named in the rumours.
Nandika Dwivedi Issues Statement on Social Media
On Friday, Nandika shared a detailed statement on Instagram, clarifying that she had no personal connection with Palash Muchhal and had no role in the couple’s private matters.
She wrote that the assumptions made about her were “simply NOT true,” adding that it was painful to see misinformation spread so quickly without evidence.
Nandika emphasised that the narrative built around her name was baseless and had taken a toll on her mental well-being. She criticised media platforms for amplifying unverified claims allegedly sourced from Reddit discussions.

Nandika Says She Received Threats
In her statement, Nandika also revealed that she had been receiving threats, which prompted her to temporarily make her social media account private.
She urged people to stop spreading rumours, stating, “I have sacrificed a lot to come to Mumbai and work towards my goals. Please do not take my name further; I have nothing to do with any of this. Eventually, the truth will find its way.”

Choreographer Gulnaaz Also Clarifies Her Position
Gulnaaz, whose name was also mentioned online, issued a similar clarification. She confirmed that she had no involvement in the circumstances surrounding the postponed wedding.
Why the Palash–Smriti Wedding Was Put on Hold
The wedding was halted after Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was hospitalised with heart-attack-like symptoms in Sangli. Shortly afterward, Palash Muchhal was also admitted due to health concerns.
According to Palash’s mother, the composer shares a close bond with Smriti’s father and decided that the ceremony should not continue until he recovered.
Following her father’s health scare, Smriti removed her pre-wedding posts from Instagram. Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, also appealed to the public not to judge the situation based on rumours, noting that the composer was dealing with a critical condition.
