In a swift and efficient rescue operation, the Mancheswar Police successfully located and recovered an 11-year-old girl who had gone missing on June 1, 2025.

The child, a resident of Sameigadia, was reported missing by her mother, Nitanjali Behuria, following a heated argument at home.

After registering Mancheswar PS Case No. 303, Dt. 01.06.2025, U/s 137(2) BNS, police immediately swung into action, forming a dedicated team to track the girl’s whereabouts. All PCR units, evening and night patrol vehicles, were alerted, while authorities conducted extensive searches across bus stands, railway stations, and residential areas.

Key to the investigation was the scrutiny of over 20 CCTV cameras, which ultimately led officers to the missing child’s location near Mancheswar Railway Station. She was rescued safely on June 2, 2025, at around 3 PM. Initial findings suggest that she left home following a minor dispute with her mother.

Police officials emphasised the importance of parental communication and awareness, urging families to support children emotionally during conflicts. This incident highlights the effectiveness of rapid police response and systematic investigation in missing child cases.

In another incident, on February 6, 2025, around 2:00 PM, Havildar Biswajit Routray, while on patrol duty with PCR-25, received a call about a 10-year-old boy found begging for food near Baba Sweets Stall on Puri Canal Road, Hansapal.

Acting swiftly, the PCR team rescued the minor and brought him to Pahal Police Station, where officers worked to identify him. After inquiries in various localities, it was discovered that the child had gone missing earlier that morning from Patharbandha Basti under Saheed Nagar Police Station. Authorities contacted his family, and he was safely reunited with them.

The incident highlights the prompt response and dedication of the police in ensuring the safety of vulnerable children.
