Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region neutralized a woman Naxalite, Renuka alias Banu, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on her head.
The encounter unfolded on Monday morning in the dense forest area bordering Dantewada and Bijapur districts.
The operation, conducted as part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts, resulted in the recovery of an Insas rifle from the site. “The encounter began around 9 a.m., and the operation is still ongoing,” confirmed Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai. Further details are awaited as security forces continue their operations in the region.
This event follows last week’s major success in Sukma district, where security personnel neutralized 16 Naxalites and seized a significant cache of weapons. The state government, along with Union leadership, remains steadfast in its resolve to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026.
