The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Chintan Raghuvanshi, Deputy Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Odisha, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh.
Raghuvanshi, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, reportedly negotiated a Rs 50 lakh deal with a local mine operator in exchange for removing their name from a money laundering investigation.
Officials caught Raghuvanshi red-handed while receiving the initial bribe instalment in Bhubaneswar. His arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing crackdown on corruption within law enforcement agencies.
Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the alleged misconduct.
