A devastating car accident occurred near Narayani Chhak under Khallikote police limits, claiming one life and leaving eight others seriously injured.

The victims were returning from a pilgrimage to Maa Tarini temple in Ghatagaon when their vehicle collided with a road divider.

Among the injured are five children, all of whom have been shifted to Berhampur Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The deceased has not yet been identified, and police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Eyewitnesses reported that the car lost control while navigating a turn and rammed into the divider with high impact. The vehicle was reportedly overcrowded, and the passengers were part of a family group returning from a religious visit.

Khallikote police reached the scene promptly and facilitated the rescue and hospital transfer. Authorities are urging caution and adherence to road safety norms, especially during long-distance travel with children.
