Canada has officially secured their place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 following a commanding performance in the Americas Regional Final.
The Nicholas Kirton-led squad won all five matches, culminating in a resounding victory over the Bahamas to top the qualifiers.
In their final clash, Canada’s pace duo Kaleem Sana and Shivam Sharma dismantled the Bahamian lineup, taking three wickets each and restricting the opponents to a paltry 57 runs. Chasing the modest total, Dilpreet Bajwa delivered fireworks with an unbeaten 36 off just 14 balls, wrapping up the match in just 5.3 overs.
Having previously featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Canada entered the qualifiers as favourites—and lived up to the billing. Their campaign included a 110-run thrashing of Bermuda, two clinical wins over the Cayman Islands, and a 10-wicket blitz of the Bahamas in the first leg.
With this triumph, Canada joins 10 already-qualified teams for the 2026 spectacle co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, including powerhouses like Australia, England, South Africa, and New Zealand. Seven more teams will emerge from the upcoming European, African, and Asia–East Asia-Pacific qualifiers.
