More than 30 passengers sustained injuries, while six were critical, after a private bus named Baby overturned on the Nayagarh-Khandapada Road on Tuesday.
The bus was carrying over 50 passengers from Rakma to Nayagarh when it lost balance and veered off the road near Khandapada.
Local residents and police rushed to the accident site and rescued the injured. The victims were taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Passengers with minor injuries received first aid and were discharged, while others remain under medical care.
Witnesses said the bus toppled suddenly after losing control, leaving passengers trapped inside. Rescue teams worked quickly to provide assistance and transport the injured to hospitals.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Officials are examining whether speeding or mechanical failure contributed to the crash. Further updates on the condition of the injured are awaited.
