The Border Security Force (BSF) neutralised two Pakistani intruders who were attempting to cross the International Border in the Tarn Taran district on Friday.
According to senior BSF officials, the incident unfolded around noon when vigilant troops deployed along the forward line spotted suspicious movement near the border fence. Recognising a potential security breach, the troops immediately challenged the suspects and issued repeated warnings to halt their advance.
Despite clear instructions to stop, the intruders chose to ignore the warnings and aggressively continued pushing toward the Indian side of the border. Sensing an imminent threat to national security and border sanctity, BSF personnel opened fire, successfully neutralising the threat.
Following the exchange, the area was cordoned off for an intensive search operation to rule out the presence of additional accomplices or hidden contraband. The identities of the deceased intruders are yet to be established, and authorities are working to determine their exact motives and affiliations.
The bodies of the intruders have been handed over to the Punjab Police for post-mortem examinations and further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, diplomatic mechanisms have been set into motion, with a flag meeting between the BSF and the Pakistan Rangers anticipated soon to register a strong protest and discuss measures to prevent future cross-border incursions.
