Chandanpur Police in Puri district arrested three individuals for allegedly supplying brown sugar in the region.
The operation, conducted on Saturday, led to the seizure of 157.38 grams of brown sugar and Rs 1,63,520 in cash.
The accused – Pradip Kumar Panda, Litu Pradhan, and Niranjan Parida – are all residents under Chandanpur police limits. Acting on a tip-off, the Inspector-in-Charge of Chandanpur Police Station, along with a coordinated team including the Special Squad and SDPO Sadar, raided Bahabalpur Square on New Jagannath Road. The suspects were caught red-handed while attempting to supply the narcotics.
Puri SP Prateek Singh praised the swift action, stating, “This is a major success in our ongoing campaign to make Puri a drug-free district. We are intensifying efforts to track interstate drug suppliers and dismantle such networks.”
Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace the broader supply chain and prevent future trafficking in the area.
