Renuka Pattnaik, Anganwadi Supervisor of Laxmipur Block in Koraput district, was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000.
The bribe was reportedly demanded from a newly appointed Anganwadi worker in exchange for ensuring her smooth functioning in the position.
Unable to meet the high demand, the complainant approached Vigilance authorities, narrating the harassment she faced. Following a well-coordinated trap, vigilance sleuths caught Smt. Pattnaik red-handed. Additionally, searches at three locations connected to the accused are being conducted to investigate disproportionate assets.
A case has been registered under Koraput Vigilance P.S Case No. 14/2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge. This incident underscores the efforts of Odisha Vigilance to tackle corruption and uphold integrity in public services.
