Bhubaneswar: WODC Chairman Asit Tripathy visited to Boudh District to take a stock of the progress of different components of works of WODC funded Eco Park at B. Narasingpur in Khajuripada from the Boudh Collector.
Recently, the Chief Minister had laid foundation stone for this unique project, which will be developed as animal rescue center. Tourists will be attracted for hiking, nature’s trail, Butterfly Park, Yoga Park, cafeteria, textiles outlets, etc in 1600 acres of land, which will be bigger than Nandankanan in size.
Interacting with the local Sarpanch & the WSHG members, who are actively involved for management of the existing infrastructure adjoining to NH – 57 at B.Narasingpur, WODC Chairman advised Boudh Collector for a model long term sustainable plan to execute different components of the project. He also sensitized them to identify at least 15 boys & girls, who will be imparted training as guide to the visitors, who will go for safari & hiking to apprise them about the flora & fauna.
Mr Tripathy interacted with the local Handloom Weavers of Subarnapur, who will sell their produce in the WODC, Handloom Mall at Jhiki in Sonepur. Foundation stone of Handloom Mall was laid recently by Hon’ble CM. This will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 645 lakhs. The approved drawing & design shown by the Collector, Sonepur.
The WODC Chairman, during his visit to Subarnapur visited Shree Ram College, Rampur along with Minister, Finance Niranjan Pujari. He interacted with the farmers who have started fish cultivation along with paddy in their respective fields. He advised the Collector to form at least 2 groups comprising of 5 members each for exposure visit to Assam & Andhara Pradesh for firsthand knowledge on this activity and WODC will give necessary financial assistance for their exposure visit & capacity building.
While interacting with the students, Chairman sensitized the students that education being the biggest resource entrepreneurship & skill development are the call of the day. He advised the faculty members that our education need to be more contemporary & value oriented. We must prepare ourselves with many challenges due to technology. He called upon the students to tap the resources which was not available earlier
