Khaprakhol police carried out a successful operation against rising illegal labour trafficking in the region.

The team rescued 10 labourers, including two children, near Badagurjibhata village close to a petrol pump.

Police arrested labour contractor Ghanshyam Sabar and driver Tawaseer Mohammad at the spot. Investigations revealed that the workers were being trafficked to Vijayawada after being recruited through illegal advances. Officers also seized the Bolero vehicle used in the operation.

Khaprakhol police registered the case under station number 267/2025 and produced the two accused in court. Further inquiry confirmed that both men belong to Sukhalimunda village under Komna police station in Nuapada district.

All rescued labourers hail from the Paikmal area of Nuapada district. Police stated that the victims were lured with false promises and were being transported without legal documentation.

The emergency operation was led by Khaprakhol Station Officer Narendra Chhatar, whose timely intervention prevented the trafficking attempt. Local residents praised the police action, calling it a strong step against illegal labour trafficking.
