A private college bus carrying over 40 students overturned near Sindhekela village on Sunday, resulting in a chaotic rescue operation and a flood of emotions for students and their families.

The bus was en route to Bhawanipatna for a seminar when it lost control navigating a sharp turn.

Emergency response teams and locals acted swiftly, ensuring all students received immediate medical attention at Khariar Mission Hospital. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, although the bus driver remains critically injured. Preliminary investigations indicate mechanical failure or excessive speed might be to blame.

Parents expressed relief over their children’s survival and demanded improved safety measures for transportation. Authorities have pledged to conduct thorough inquiries and implement stricter protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
