The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched an extensive campaign to control the spread of dengue by observing “Dry Day” across all wards.
As part of this initiative, corporators will be trained to implement awareness programs, and additional staff will be deployed to strengthen preventive measures.
BMC has assigned 70 workers to spray oil in various locations to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds. Alongside this, sanitation vehicles will be used to spread awareness, and dengue-related precautionary messages will be displayed at traffic posts.
This year, the municipal authorities have significantly increased resources to combat the disease, emphasising early intervention and community involvement. The campaign aims to mobilise residents to proactively eliminate stagnant water sources, a prime breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes.
