In a sharp political attack ahead of the upcoming elections, BJP MP Balabhadra Majhi on Monday claimed that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is on the verge of a complete collapse in Odisha.
Speaking to reporters, Majhi asserted that the regional party, once considered invincible in the state, now stands directionless and hollow.
“The BJD will be clean wiped from Odisha’s political map. It has no ideology, no clear vision, and is being run by inexperienced leaders who lack a connection with the people,” Majhi said, delivering one of the strongest critiques from a BJP leader in recent weeks.
He accused the BJD leadership of losing public trust, saying the party no longer represents the aspirations of the people of Odisha. “It has become a party of confusion. What is its stand? What are its principles? Nobody knows,” Majhi remarked.
The BJP MP also targeted BJD’s internal functioning, alleging that decisions are being made without transparency or accountability, and that the party is suffering from a serious leadership vacuum.
Majhi’s comments come amid a growing wave of criticism aimed at the BJD’s handling of recent controversies, including internal disagreements, legislative missteps, and leadership challenges.
With political temperatures rising in Odisha, Majhi’s remarks are being seen as part of BJP’s broader strategy to consolidate its presence and position itself as the alternative force in the state’s political arena.
