In a major organisational move, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has unveiled a comprehensive list of campaigners for the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election in Odisha.
Under the directives of party president Naveen Patnaik, responsibilities have been assigned to 52 leaders across Nuapada Block, Komana Block, Nuapada NAC, and Khariar Road NAC to spearhead grassroots outreach efforts.
The deployment aims to secure a resounding win for BJD’s candidate, Snehangini Chhuria, by mobilising a robust election machinery in the constituency. An official order issued from Sankha Bhavan outlines the detailed allocations, emphasizing coordinated campaigning to connect with voters at the local level.
For the Nuapada Block, the party has roped in heavyweights, including former minister and BJD’s Western Odisha coordinator Niranjan Pujari, Sanjay Das Burma, Arun Sahoo, Pratap Jena, Dibyashankar Mishra, Pritiranjan Gharai, Dhruba Sahoo, Manohar Randhari, Pradeep Disari, Tusharkanti Behera, Braja Kishore Pradhan, Ramesh Chandra Behera, Sarada Prasanna Jena, Romancha Ranjan Biswal, Sudarshan Haripal, Prasanta Kumar Behera, Devi Ranjan Tripathy, and Nihar Ranjan Behera. These leaders will focus on block-level mobilisation and voter engagement.
In the Nuapada NAC, campaign duties have been entrusted to Atanu Sabhyasachi Nayak, Sarada Prasad Nayak, Debesh Acharya, Manorama Mohanty, Deepali Das, Ayub Khan, Rita Sahu, and Sworup Das, who will target urban and semi-urban pockets.
For the Komana Block, senior BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das leads the charge, supported by Pratap Deb, Adhiraj Panigrahi, Pushpendra Singh Deo, Jogesh Singh, Rabi Nanda, Pradeep Majhi, Nalinikanta Pradhan, Byomkesh Ray, Sushanta Kumar Rout, Subhasish Khuntia, Jagannath Saraka, Saroj Meher, Biswaranjan Mallick, Avinash Samal, Iswar Panigrahi, Rohit Joseph Tirkey, and Umakanta Samantaray. This team will drive rural outreach in the block.
Rounding out the list, the Khariar Road NAC will see efforts led by former minister and senior BJD MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain, alongside Bikram Panda, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Pradyumna Tripathy, Souvic Biswal, Gautam Buddha Das, Prasanta Muduli, and Rudra Prasad Maharathy.
This extensive rollout underscores BJD’s determination to reclaim momentum in the by-election, leveraging its cadre’s experience to address local issues and consolidate support.
