Patna: Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tarkishore Prasad on Saturday brushed aside the reports of irregularity in COVID-19 testing data in the state.
Prasad’s response comes a day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took serious note of the alleged irregularities in COVID-19 testing in the state.
Prasad said the allegations are baseless and added that the way officers, healthcare workers and social workers have served the people of the state during COVID-19 pandemic is an example.
There are reports that COVID-19 testing data was fudged by Bihar government in a bid to conceal the severity of the disease in the state. Bihar CM has asked the principal secretary to check records of 22 districts in this connection.
Kumar insisted that overall testing of samples in Bihar was very good and that he has been paying close attention to the records presented before him on a daily basis.
