In view of the statewide Odisha Bandh scheduled for tomorrow, the Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) has drawn up a robust security strategy to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain public order across the capital.
Addressing a press conference today, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Saravana Vivek M announced that as many as 18 platoons of police force will be stationed at strategic locations throughout the city.
According to the DCP, strict security measures will be enforced at major traffic intersections, government offices, railway stations, educational institutions, and commercial hubs. Senior police officers will directly monitor patrolling and crowd control efforts to ensure normal life remains uninterrupted for emergency services and commuters.
“Police personnel will be deployed across key areas in Bhubaneswar to ensure peace, safety, and smooth traffic flow. Strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to forcefully shut down essential services or destroy public property,” the DCP warned.
Residents are advised to plan their commute accordingly while authorities remain on high alert throughout the shutdown.
