Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Bhubaneswar has been placed on high alert, with security measures intensified across the city’s strategic locations.

Authorities have ramped up vigilance at Biju Patnaik International Airport, major transit points, and religious sites to ensure public safety.

The conflict between India and Pakistan has led to heightened security concerns nationwide, prompting states to take preemptive measures. Odisha, home to critical installations and a key transportation hub, is no exception. Officials have enforced strict security protocols, including detailed identity checks for travellers and increased surveillance in sensitive areas.

Security at Key Locations

At Biju Patnaik International Airport, security personnel have intensified checks on passengers and luggage following a recent scare involving an abandoned bag.

Although the bag was later identified as misplaced, the incident has underscored the need for heightened vigilance.

Routine security drills and emergency preparedness exercises are being conducted to ensure a swift response in case of unforeseen threats.

Similarly, railway stations and bus terminals have witnessed increased patrolling, with officials ensuring that commuters adhere to security advisories.

The Commissionerate Police has deployed additional forces at key locations to monitor any suspicious activity.

Temple Security Strengthened

The historic Lingaraj Temple, a prominent pilgrimage site in Bhubaneswar, has also witnessed enhanced security measures.

Authorities have mandated stricter visitor screenings, with security personnel stationed at entry and exit points. Devotees are being urged to cooperate with the guidelines to ensure the safety of all visitors.

Public Advisory Issued

In light of the current situation, the Odisha government has issued a public advisory urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Citizens have been requested to avoid crowded areas unless necessary and follow security protocols as instructed by authorities.

What’s Next?

Officials have assured the public that there is no immediate threat, but precautionary steps are being taken to prevent any untoward incidents. Security agencies continue to monitor developments closely, and additional measures may be implemented if required.
