A man allegedly strangled his wife to death and fled after abandoning her body at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, reports said.

The incident took place in the Mancheswar area late Sunday night.

The deceased, identified as Nandita Behera, was allegedly killed by her husband, Gupteswar Behera, following a heated verbal altercation. Family members claim that the argument escalated, leading to a fatal assault.

After allegedly committing the crime, Gupteswar transported his wife’s body to Capital Hospital but fled the premises without notifying authorities. The victim’s family has levelled strong accusations against him, asserting that he not only murdered Nandita but also attempted to evade responsibility.

Authorities are currently investigating the matter, while the suspect remains at large. Further updates are awaited as police continue their search.
