Bhubaneswar Horror: Two Women Critically Injured After Being Run Over and Dragged by Motorcycle

A shocking incident on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar left two women critically injured after they were allegedly run over and dragged by a motorcycle during a violent altercation on Thursday.


The incident was reported from Bhingarpur under the jurisdiction of Balianta Police Station.

According to preliminary reports, two youths allegedly attempted to hit the women with their motorcycle before dragging them on the road and fleeing the scene, creating panic among commuters and local residents.

Witnesses Describe Chaotic Scene

Eyewitnesses said the attack unfolded in broad daylight on a busy stretch of road, leaving bystanders shocked.

Residents rushed to the spot after noticing the injured women being dragged during the incident. The disturbing visuals reportedly triggered fear and confusion in the area as people attempted to rescue the victims.

Police have not yet confirmed the exact motive behind the attack and are currently investigating all possible angles.

Locals Chase and Capture Accused

Following the incident, local residents reportedly chased the accused youths, who are said to be from Adaspur, and managed to overpower them before police arrived.

Sources said angry locals allegedly assaulted the accused before they were rescued by police personnel.

The two accused were later taken into custody by Balianta police for questioning.

Victims Undergoing Treatment in Critical Condition

The injured women sustained serious injuries in the incident and were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

According to sources, both victims remain in critical condition and are under close medical observation.

Police officials are currently reconstructing the sequence of events and recording statements from eyewitnesses as part of the investigation.

Police Investigation Underway

Odisha Police has launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

Authorities are expected to examine CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts, and the backgrounds of the accused to determine the motive and circumstances behind the alleged attack.
