Bhubaneswar is taking a significant leap toward becoming a safer and smarter city with the installation of 1,500 new AI-enabled CCTV cameras at key locations across the city.
The initiative, launched by Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL), aims to improve public security, assist traffic management, and create a safer environment for women, children, and senior citizens.
Key Features of the New System
-
Advanced AI Capabilities:
The cameras are equipped with facial recognition and behavior analysis algorithms that can flag suspicious movements or crowd gatherings in real-time, allowing quick intervention by authorities. -
Traffic Violation Detection:
These cameras will automatically identify violations such as riding without helmets, driving on the wrong side, overspeeding, and signal jumping, enabling strict enforcement of road safety rules. -
Centralized Command & Control:
All cameras will be connected to an integrated command center, where trained personnel will continuously monitor live feeds and coordinate with police teams for immediate response. -
Data-Driven Insights:
The system will generate analytics for traffic flow, congestion patterns, and accident-prone zones, helping urban planners design better roads and manage city infrastructure efficiently.
