The Bharat Pavilion made its debut at the prestigious Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), signaling a new chapter for Indian cinema on the global stage.
The pavilion was inaugurated by H.E. Ms. Satwant Khanalia, Consul General of India, Hong Kong & Macau.
Organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and supported by the Indian Consulate, the Bharat Pavilion highlights India’s expanding global presence in the media and entertainment sector.
H.E. Ms. Khanalia expressed pride in India’s cinematic legacy, stating, “This pavilion represents a new era of global partnerships and opportunities for Indian cinema.” The pavilion aims to foster international collaborations through co-productions, content distribution, and market expansion.
A prominent feature of the pavilion is the promotion of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), set to take place in Mumbai from 1–4 May 2025. WAVES is expected to position India as a global hub for content creation and innovation in the Media & Entertainment industry.
NFDC continues its mission to support Indian filmmakers by facilitating co-productions and international distribution opportunities at major events, including FILMART. The Bharat Pavilion has already sparked significant interest and promises to strengthen India’s cultural and creative footprint worldwide.
