Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has pulled down houses in Behera Sahi of Malgodown area for renovation and expansion of the SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
Reportedly, at least 151 houses and 7 shops built on the adjoining roads at Behera Sahi were demolished in this drive. The residents of the area were shifted to Poparada and Sartol school, CMC informed.
Moreover, a cheque of Rs 50,000 and 225ft will be provided to the residents along with free food for eight days.
Earlier, the Telugu Sahi was demolished in the eviction drive for renovation and expansion of the SCB Medical College and Hospital.
