The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has successfully resolved long‑standing discrepancies in settlement records relating to the K‑7, Kalinga Nagar plotted scheme of Ghatikia Mouza, providing major relief to genuine allotment holders.
Residential plots under the scheme were allotted in 1991, but inconsistencies in revenue records created hurdles for beneficiaries in accessing post‑allotment services such as lease deed processing and conversion of leasehold properties into freehold.
Following grievances raised before Housing and Urban Development Minister and BDA Chairman Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, the Government directed a time‑bound resolution. Lawyers were appointed to safeguard allottee interests, and weekly hearings were conducted by the Hon’ble Member, Board of Revenue.
A joint inspection by BDA, GA & PG Department, Revenue & Disaster Management Department and other authorities was carried out, with a detailed report submitted to the Court. On Thursday, the Board of Revenue pronounced orders in 218 cases, directing the Bhubaneswar Tahsildar to correct plot areas and maps.
The decision is expected to remove hurdles faced by K‑7 allottees and ensure smooth delivery of services. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Minister and BDA Chairman for their intervention.
Officials said the coordinated action reflects the administration’s commitment to citizen‑centric governance and timely resolution of public grievances.
