A fresh cyclonic storm threat is brewing over the Bay of Bengal, raising concerns for coastal states.
According to weather forecasters, a low-pressure system is expected to intensify into a depression within the next 6 hours, with a high likelihood of further strengthening into a cyclonic storm over the subsequent 24 hours.
Once formed, the cyclone is predicted to track in a west-northwesterly direction across the Bay of Bengal. Meteorological projections indicate that the system will move toward the West-Central Bay of Bengal and reach close to the Andhra Pradesh coast by the evening of Nov 2.
Authorities and disaster management teams have been placed on high alert as sea conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly over the coming days.
Fishermen have been strongly advised against venturing into deep sea areas, while coastal districts along the eastern seaboard prepare precautionary measures to handle potential heavy rainfall and high-speed winds.
