Police have detained two individuals in connection with the death of a minor girl in Firingimala village of Bargarh district.
The incident, which has stirred public concern, saw the detention of a relative and a local shopkeeper at the Gaiselet police station for interrogation.
Inspector General Himanshu Lal, along with a magistrate, recorded statements from the victim’s family members. Preliminary findings suggest that a family dispute may have led to the tragic outcome. During police questioning, the victim’s maternal cousin reportedly fell ill and lost consciousness, adding further tension to the investigation.
The minor girl, who was found in a critical half-burnt condition, was rushed to Burla Medical College but was declared dead upon arrival. The case has prompted widespread calls for justice and transparency in the investigation.
