The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has responded sternly to Kolkata Knight Riders’ decision to release pacer Mustafizur Rahman after being advised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In a decisive move, the BCB revoked Mustafizur’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Indian Premier League with immediate effect.
Furthermore, the board announced that Bangladesh will not travel to India for next month’s T20 World Cup. According to a report on Cricbuzz, the decision emerged from a meeting between BCB officials and concerned authorities.
Initially, the BCB had sent letters to both the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the BCCI, seeking clarity on the security status in India. However, after reassessing the situation, the board opted for a completely different course, prioritising the safety and well-being of its players.
