Balasore: A special squad of Balasore police today arrested six middlemen, 3 each from DHH and RTO premises while seizing Rs 16000 cash and six mobile phones from their possession.
In order to curb brokerage activities at various government offices and hospitals, the District Police has launched “Mission Middleman”.
Today, 6 persons who were found involved in brokering have been arrested by the police from the district headquarters hospital and regional transport office.
The 3 brokers arrested from the DHH were making huge profits through commissions by influencing the patients and relatives of the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital by referring them to private clinics and diagnostic centres.
Similarly, middlemen lurking in the premises of the RTO office were found taking money from people for clearing various vehicle-related papers. The police reached the RTO in disguise and apprehended three middlemen.
Tickets, Aadhaar cards, diagnostic centre receipts, money receipts, mobile phones and Rs 16,000 cash have been seized from all the six arrested persons.
Two cases have been filed against the six arrested accused in both the town police station and the industrial police station.
