Police in Nabarangpur arrested a headmaster on charges of misconduct with a student, sparking outrage in the community.
The accused, identified as Sukanta Sadangi, served as headmaster at a Sevashram in Tentulikhunti.
Authorities confirmed that the arrest followed allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward a female student. Local police acted swiftly after receiving the complaint, detaining Sadangi and presenting him before the POCSO court.
The court rejected his bail plea, sending him to jail. Officials emphasised that the case falls under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which mandates strict legal action against offenders.
