Marvel Studios stunned fans at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026 by unveiling an extended, Hall H-exclusive trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, featuring darker footage, major character reveals, and a closer look at Doctor Doom’s immense powers.
While audiences worldwide watched the official trailer released online, the exclusive footage shown to more than 6,500 fans in Hall H included several never-before-seen scenes, expanding the story of Victor Von Doom and teasing the arrival of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Hall H Trailer Offers a Darker Storyline
The presentation was led by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo. Actor Robert Downey Jr., who portrays Victor Von Doom, joined the cast on stage and encouraged fans to wear Doctor Doom masks before the exclusive footage began.
Unlike the public trailer released on July 20, the Hall H version reportedly focused heavily on Doom’s tragic past, emotional struggles, and transformation into one of Marvel’s most powerful villains.
The footage showcased devastated cities, large-scale destruction, and a darker tone, highlighting the threat Doom poses to multiple universes.
Doctor Doom’s Power Takes Centre Stage
According to reports from entertainment publications, the exclusive trailer opens with Sue Storm narrating Doom’s tragic journey, describing him as “the most intelligent man in the room” before revealing the personal losses that shaped him.
One emotional sequence reportedly shows Doom’s castle featuring portraits of a woman and child, suggesting the loss of his family.
The trailer then shifts to a devastated New York, where Reed Richards confronts Doom over the destruction.
One of the standout moments reportedly features Doom effortlessly stopping Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, before using powerful green magic to summon an army of Sentinels, declaring:
“Hell answers to me.”
X-Men Officially Join the MCU Battle
One of the biggest surprises from the Hall H presentation was the reported appearance of several X-Men characters.
The exclusive footage reportedly featured Cyclops (James Marsden), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Gambit (Channing Tatum) joining the battle against Doom’s forces.
Fans also reportedly spotted appearances by Loki, Black Panther, Shang-Chi, and Steve Rogers in brief scenes, hinting at a massive multiverse conflict.
Massive Ensemble Cast Announced
Marvel also showcased one of its largest ensemble casts to date.
The film features Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, Vanessa Kirby, Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Channing Tatum, Letitia Wright, Hayley Atwell, James Marsden, and several other returning Marvel stars.
According to Marvel Studios, Avengers: Doomsday will unite heroes from multiple universes against a threat unlike any they have faced before.
The highly anticipated superhero film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
