Angul: Two Youths Shot at Over Past Enmity

Two youths were critically injured after being shot at by miscreants in Dhokuta panchayat under Bantala police station in Angul district on Monday.


The injured are Shibaram Naik (27) and Bishnu Charan Naik (40) of Kanheinagar area. It is suspected the the duo was attacked over past rivalry with a group over a certain business. They were admitted to the district headquarters hospital by locals and police.

According to information, at around 9 pm today, Shibaram and Bishnu were returning from his in-laws’ house in Rantalei to his village Kanheinagar on a bike. Suddenly, miscreant opened fire on them. Hearing their screams for help, the locals rushed towards the scene and the miscreant sped away.

Later, the locals admitted both of them to the district headquarters hospital in a 108 ambulance. Shibram was shot in the right side of stomach while Bishnu was shot in the thigh.

The Bantala police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
