Odisha Vigilance has launched simultaneous raids at eight locations linked to Ramachandra Satpathy, an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Athmallik Block, Angul District.
The operation, led by seven DSPs, 15 Inspectors, and additional supporting staff, is being conducted under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
The searches, spanning Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Kalahandi districts, aim to investigate allegations that Satpathy possesses assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. His residences, offices, and properties are under scrutiny as authorities seek further evidence.
Sources indicate that the operation is ongoing, with further updates expected as searches continue. Odisha Vigilance has intensified efforts to tackle corruption, ensuring transparency and accountability among public officials.
1. Residential house of Ramachandra Satpathy located at Ward No.15, Plot no.12, Gayatri Nagar, Dhenkanal.
2. Govt. Quarter of Ramachandra Satpathy located at Attamallick Town, Dist-Angul.
3. Office room of Ramachandra Satpathy located at Panchayat Samiti Office, Attamallick, Dist-Angul.
4. Paternal house of Ramachandra Satpathy located at Banasingh, PS- Sadar, Dhenkanal.
5. Residential house of his in-laws located at Junagarh, Kalahandi.
6. The house of his in-laws located at village- Karamula, PS – Gandia, Dhenkanal.
7. Residential house of another in-law located at Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi.
8. Structure built over Plot at Bachhipur, Trisulia, Barang, Cuttack.
Ongoing searches by the Directorate of Administration (DA) against Satpathy have resulted in the recovery of approximately Rs. 22 lakhs in cash from the residence of his son-in-law, Dr. Tapan Kumar Tripathy, who serves as a Medical Officer at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Junagarh, District Kalahandi.
The cash has been seized, and both individuals are being interrogated to determine the source of the funds.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Satpathy and his family members;
1. Residential double-storeyed building with an area of approx. 5000 Sqft located at Ward No.15, Plot no.12, Gayatri Nagar, Dhenkanal.
2. 17 nos. of high value plots, including 1 in Barang, Cuttack, and the remaining 16 plots in and around Dhenkanal town.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
3. Gold ornaments 326 gms.
4. Cash Rs 23.95 Lakhs recovered during house search of son-in-law of Satpathy, Dr. Tapan Kumar Tripathy, Medical Officer, CHC, Junagarh. Both are being interrogated to ascertain the source of funds. The amount has been seized.
5. Bank deposits over Rs. 63.69 lakhs. Other deposits are being ascertained.
6. 2 four wheelers (Honda Jazz in the name of Rama Chandra Satpathy & Hyundai i20 in the name of his son-in-law) and 2 two wheelers.
